Welcome back! We hope you had a fantastic Easter break and are now feeling ready for the half term ahead.
This half term our project is Beachcombers. The children will be learning all about the beach and sea as well as the weird and wonderful animals and plants that live there in microhabitats on and around the beach. We are planning to take the children to a local reservoir with a beach to give them a taste of being next to the sea! They will get to explore the beach to see what they can find, and there will also be a chance to have an ice cream!
For this half term in maths, we will be revisiting addition and subtraction with some children adding and subtracting one from a group and we will also revisit geometry, familiarising ourselves with common 2D shapes. Some children will continue with number and place value of numbers up to 50 and above, and then focusing on counting in 2’s 5’s and 10’s.
All the children will continue to work through the Read Write inc scheme of work, working hard to develop their reading and writing skills.
