We had a great half term continuing to study Towers, Turrets and tunnels– including some field study visits within our local area.
It was also really lovely to celebrate Christmas a little more ‘normally’ this year– with a visit to church fr our Christingle service and it was wonderful to see so many of you at our Christmas production– we had such fun learning our Covid 12 days of Christmas song and we hope that you enjoyed coming in to watch not only your own child but other classes within school. We dressed up for Christmas Jumper Day; enjoyed spending social time together at Christmas dinner day and going to the theatre to watch Sleeping Beauty. Father Christmas visited us too, which was really exciting.
This term we have started a new topic called Beat, Band, Boogie– with the driver subject being Music. We will be exploring making musical instruments, learning about The Grand Old Duke of York and the Steadfast Tin soldier. We have organised for a theatre group to work with our class to learn more about keeping safe online and we have a virtual theatre performance all about understanding our feelings.
We are celebrating our PHSE Dreams and Goals topic by having a dress up as the person you want to be when you grow up on Friday 18th February. We are also having a focus on promoting healthy eating. We have started to host ‘Carrot club’ every other Friday– with a person from our class to be nominated to attend a special lunch with the Head, Deputy and other members of the Leadership team.
