Welcome back! We hope you have had a lovely break and the children are excited to be back.
Over the previous half term, the children have taken part in independent, 1:1 and group activities across all areas in a child-initiated environment and have had the opportunity to regularly visit the ball pool, swimming pool, adventure playground and trips out into the community. We particularly enjoyed out trip to Garden King pumpkin walk and to Rosliston as part of our topic work. The children have been developing their social skills through playing alongside their peers and beginning to acknowledge their presence.
This half term we will continue our topic ‘Why do squirrels hide their nuts’. We aim to experience lots of opportunities in nature during our outdoor learning sessions and explore woodland environments., as well as linking this into our continuous provision in the classroom. Hopefully we will get some snow to allow us to explore nature in some different weather. Everyone will also get the opportunity to visit the National Memorial Arboretum and explore a range of Remembrance activities to support this.
With the led up to Christmas, we will be taking part in lots of festive activities and celebrations, including our Christmas lunch and whole school production., as well as opportunities to make lots of tasty treats.
