Seals Newsletter - Spring Term 2

Welcome back! We hope you have had a lovely break and the children are excited to be back.

Over the previous term, the children have taken part in independent, 1:1 and group activities across all areas in a child-initiated environment and have had the opportunity to regularly visit the sensory room, ball pool, swimming pool, adventure playground and trips out into the community. As our ’wow’ moment for our ’Why don’t snakes have legs?’ topic, we had a visit from the animal man who showed us some of his animals including an owl, snakes, a rabbit, a bearded dragon and a guinea pig. We all had the opportunity to hold and stroke them all.

This half term we are starting a new topic called ’What happens when I fall asleep?’ We are going to be exploring the dark den and sensory room with our new UV toys see how things can look different in the dark. We will also see what animals wake up at night and who works when we’re asleep!

Megan is leaving us in a couple of weeks for a new adventure working with adults, but we have Katie starting with us next week to ensure a seamless handover, so we would like to take this opportunity to thank Megan for all of her hard work and to welcome Katie to the team.
